Lumen Christi: The Light of Christ

Rejoice! Rejoice is one of the first words of the Exsultet (the Easter Proclamation). This one word sums up much of what Easter is all about. As spring time returns with the sun... so too the springtime of our faith arrives with the resurrection of the Son. In the drama of Holy Week we see that fateful final journey of the messiah. We enter into the triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday... We encounter Jesus in the breaking of the bread just as the disciple's did on Maundy Thursday.

We stand at the foot of the cross with Mary and with John on Good Friday... And finally we relive salvation history and burst with Christ from the tomb in the Easter Vigil...
